my perfect playlist

If you were given an Ipod with the following note attached--what would you load and why?

please load this ipod with 25 of your favorite songs, you will soon be stranded on a desert island and this will be all you have to listen to besides the sounds of nature.

Please respond to this post with your list, remember to include your name somewhere in the post.

My List:
The Entire Miranda Lambert "Revolution" CD except for number 15--This is the CD that I can listen to over and over and over and over and over again..LOOVE IT
Shooter Jennings--4th of July--Hannah's favorite
The Wreckers--Leave the Pieces--Nicholas's favorite
Eric Church--Livin Part of Life--the happiest bad day song ever
Alanis Morisette--Ironic--because it is
Counting Crowes--Hangin Around--Hannah's Friday morning song--we have to listen to this in car
AC/DC--Moneytalks--yep yep it does
Steve Earl--Someday--so true
Aerosmith--Pink--"it's my signature color" Julia Roberts as Shelby in Steel Magnolias
Aerosmith--Amazing--the most calming song in the history of rock I think
Tesla-Games People Play--much like Steve Earl's Someday it is just very truthful

As you make your list think about why certain songs come to mind--what makes you like them? Is there a special time in your life they symbolize or do you chose them when you are feeling particularly sad or happy?

"Talkin' 'bout my generation"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generation_Y

Please read the following wiki that talks about the generation of young people commonly called the millenial.  This is you!!  I have spent a great deal of time this summer learning more about this generation and about what it means to be a part of it as well as to teach it.

I want you to think as you read about the characteristics of the generation being described.  Do they apply to you?  Does this definition of Generation Y or "millenial" fit with your understanding of yourself and your friends?

Please respond in a well worded paragraph to these questions, and feel free to add other comments about your generation.

Multiple Intelligences--Why do I care?

Yesterday we discussed multiple intelligences and looked at what our own likes and dislikes say about our intelligence background. Some of you were very strong (all yes answers) and weaker (all no answers) in different areas. Others of you were generally even in each area, or didn't have more yes answers than no answers in any area. So what does all of this mean?

First and foremost--this has NOTHING to do with being good at school or bad at school being smart or dumb. Mulitple Inteligences shed light on HOW you learn not your ABILITY to learn. Knowing the areas that you are strong in and being able to communicate about that will help you chose courses and also assignments that work best for you--that allow you to be very successful. Knowing the areas that you were weaker in may help you understand why certain subjects are more difficult for you, and while you may not be able to avoid them all together--knowing about mulitple intelligences may help you.

I am a strongest in words(linguistic), and People (intERpersonal)--which could explain being an English teacher don't you think?
I am weakest in Math (mathematical), and Outdoors (naturalist)--which could explain why I have trouble doing even simple math without a calculator, and why I would rather stay at a lovely indoor spa than go camping in the woods!

Your response this week has three parts:

1. Tell about two people you listed under your Multiple Intelligences list that share an area of strength or weakness with you. How do you think this has shaped that person's life?

2. How will knowing about your Multiple Intelligences affect your future learning?

3. Respond in 3 sentences to the video from youtube.
